Today it is increasingly difficult to do without the computer . The digital is present everywhere: music, movies, photos, email, chat, email, instant messaging , etc.. Anything goes!
Anyway , times , this bug! Sometimes a little: some lost files. ... Sometimes it's a big mess and this is the big crisis settles ! Hundreds or thousands of files lost, memories flew , lost forever in the precipices a defective piece of plastic, a hard drive that has crashed or a USB key to slammed , no one knows why . And yes! that's also digital.
Before, we accumulated tons of paper , we arranged them, and no one looked over. But we knew that the photographs or documents were there, even if they were a little yellowed.
Today we know they are a. It can be accessed when we want, in a single click . ... But for how long? were stored on CD or DVD, but when we want to a recovery of backup done six months ago or 6 years, the probability that it works are often too thin . Failure of plastic or burning ? The disks rotate more quickly and are less reliable. Anyway, ultimately we are often disappointed. A hard drive is much safer but it slams without warning and it is not immune a virus attack. Listed removable media, USB drives and flash cards are nice because light and portable, but absolutely too limited in terms of capacity and too expensive for use as a storage medium to long term .
Clearly it is better to have multiple hard drives and each save documents and files twice. It's redundancy. It a bit of a hard , and more costly than having a single hard disk, but it is also the most reliable and long-term, less expensive because the files can be stored crushed and replaced with newer, like a CD-RW or DVD-RW , but with a reliability coefficient higher.
